Google Chrome Passes Safari in Internet Browser Usage

The Google Chrome web browser has just overtook Safari to become the third most used in the world.

Chrome was launched only 16 months ago but has already made huge headway when it comes to competing with the big boys of the internet.
According to data released by Net Applications, Google’s Chrome ended the year with a share of 4.63% of internet traffic. Apple’s Safari ended the year with only 4.46% of internet traffic, a slight slip for the browser.
Leading the way is Internet Explorer from Microsoft, dominating with more than 62% of internet traffic.
All is not good for Microsoft however, as there is a trend that sees their Internet Explorer browser slipping when it comes to internet use.
Years ago, Microsoft owned more than 90% of web traffic, but this number has fallen steadily and continues to decline.
